I try to avoid writing about a real place because I just know I'll get it completely wrong, hah. I imagined Malrennan as a smaller, grittier version of London, with enclaves where rich folks live like in Caïro, and bit of Tokyo glamour added to the mix. The brighter the sun, the darker the shadows and all that.
