[Seventh Parallel] Bhogavati sculptures from TR:U
I should have been at a lecture but the train network is a right mess, boo hoo. So instead you get this thing for your tomb-raiding, art-stealing scoundrels: Statues from the Bhogavati level from Tomb Raider: Underworld.
There are two - faced left and faced right - and they have shadows and everything. Unfortunately they don't have the pretty bumpmapping like they have in the original game, but I did manage to make the fan reflective. You can find them under Sculptures for about $2000. Both files are compressed.

Hee, you mean the skull pillars from Xibalba e.e? Dangling metres above the floor with only a couple of skeletons to keep you company? Oh, that was fun.

Hi...
(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)But I'm really interested with the bump thing on this object.
The fact that I'm rarely do object recoloring so I must be honest that recoloring this object is confusing me.
This statue only can be recolored on her skin and it's pedestal (which I also confused to determined the edge of the square shape *crying to have it's texture map, please...)
So forgive me if I somehow have to replaced your texture on this object, Yuxi. Since I don't know how to recolor the other part except to change your texture. T_T
And can it possible to make it's pedestal and her fan less glossy? I don't know how to change that with SimPe. (beginner alert)
Anyway... this is temporary result of your beautiful statue which I recolor it.

Please, Yuxi... I really really love this statue and want to recolor it properly. But above all, Thank you so much and I'll be waiting for your reply. (PS: Sorry for my not fluent English)

Re: Hi...
Looking back at these files, it seems the reason I gave this so many groups ( making only two subsets recolourable is a game restriction) is because that was how the original mesh was mapped: Different groups, all with a completely different texture, and mapped in such a way that simply combining the textures and remapping the mesh parts is almost impossible. So I can't make it properly recolourable, I'm afraid.
Instead of replacing the texture (which is fine if it's for your own use only, but can cause conflicts for downloaders), it's better to clone the object for your recolour(s) instead. But remember to register a new GUID for it (in the OBJD tab - click 'get GUID'), or it will still conflict.
To remove the glossy bits (I think I did that because it was a mirror in the original game), you have to go to the Material Definition (TXMT), go to the 'stdMatEnvCubeMode' line, and change 'reflection' to 'none'.
As for a UV map for the pedestal, it has an impossibly strange mapping so I doubt it would be of much help. The best advice I could give is to just experiment with your texture while you are in Milkshape.
I'm sorry I can't be of much help! These objects just aren't really optimal for TS2, so we'll have to improvise. XD
Re: Hi...
(Anonymous) 2014-07-19 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)But I don't know how to clone object and making new GUID with that..so if it's okay, then I'll be continuing replacing ur texture with mine and don't worried I never share anything that cause conflict to other. Since I'm new with object recoloring so I'm not confident share my recolor yet.. *shy*
And thank you for teaching me how to change the glossy part. I hope I can succeded editing it. About texture/UV map, well...I guess I have to find another texture that's fit. Since I only have SimPE for recoloring and I don't have Milkshape.
Anyway, thank you again..
