[Picspam] Illumination + Sim makeover

Anyone here on Tumblr? Is it possible to follow others/reblog pictures with a sub-blog instead of the name you signed up with? I'm trying to go with the sneaky anonymous thing, but it doesn't help if my original super-obvious username is plastered everywhere, eh. As if the blog's name isn't a dead giveaway already.

Anyway. I used to hate building my own lots, mostly because my ideas didn't go much further than slapping two squares together. I surpassed myself by making something consisting of four squares, semi-creatively stacked on top of each other. Oh yeah. 8D It made for some pretty enough pictures, so here are some of those.
This was intended as a modern house for a rich bachelor who doesn't like frilly decorations, but I got bored halfway through due to the lack of needlessly ~ornate~ stuff, and didn't even get to the bedrooms. At least I had an excuse to finally use those light panels by Xanathon I'd been hoarding for ages.

I finally slapped Gunmod's Shader file in my game and ended up gawking at the water for at least 15 minutes.

. Sim blahblah.

As for something entirely different, I'm not the only one who makes characters into sims and just keeps tweaking them endlessly, am I? I came across some old pictures of the ~ominous~ dude from the last post and ended up comparing them. Perhaps I'm the only one who finds this amusing, but hey.
His name is Sanzusair and he likes talking in metaphors that may or may not make any sort of sense.

2008: Photoshopped to hell and looking fancier than the next two pictures combined.


2009: For some reason I spammed this picture around everywhere at this point.


Now: Doesn't look like himself without the white fairy locks.

As for tumblr you can't follow someone on a 'child' tumblr although I *think* you can like stuff! :) So you can't do the super secret squirrel thing!:P

Let's see...I use the Scriptorium and a slightly tweaked Radiance 2.3. Version 2.4 is a bit different... darker, if I remember correctly, with deeper shadows. It had me annoyed enough to find the lighting.txt files in my HD-back-up for all the freaking EPs just to get 2.3 back.
The shader file can be found here. Just plopping RLS-Shaders.package in your folder should be enough (and a decent graphics card - I remember my old one not being able to render the new water, booboo)

I'm hardly in the position to make Photosoup-tuts, I think. I usually just fumble around a bit with layer settings to up the contrast a teeny bit, and some blur. For TS2 pictures in particular, I really recommend booting CC with blurry textures or boxy meshes. No matter how fancy a graphics card, it can't fix those kinds of things. XD

Like everything you do, this is gorgeous. I've had that light panel for years, too, but never found any way to use the thing. Genius what you did with it! Nobody uses stone the way you do.

The RLS shader effects on the water in your shot look really great. I remember removing them because they were kind of overwhelming, but you're inspiring me to try again.

And your name looks kind of cool down at the bottom of the pics!

I wish the shader would make the water less...aqua blue, but oh well. I hope it adds something for you too!

1 Bird: Nemestnaya
2 Table: Holy Simoly (a dining set I think, my adblocker won't let me browse)
3 Chair: Shino&KCR (Sophie dining set, you can get it at the Booty - can't find the recolour though, alas)
4 Sink: This is a combination of this sink and this cabinet by 4esf.
5 Mirror: Ikea Stuff pack

Is that water from Sims 2? Because last time I tried Gunmods I found it too dark. I did not notice the water though. I don't remember seeing anything come out in waves. Anyways, I just want my water to look like that. <3

Yep, this is all from TS2. The shader is a separate package that comes with the Radiance download (it's called RLS-Shaders.package - just put it in your Downloads folder). If you have an older graphics card it might not work, though. It wouldn't with my ancient nVidia GeForce 7600GT, for example.
It's true, Radiance is way too dark, especially 2.4! I tweaked it for myself (or flailed my way around the settings) to lighten things up a bit. You don't need to install it for the water though, I think.

Gonna jump on the bandwagon here to tell you how absolutely beautiful your decor/photos/content is. I could browse through your blog for hours and find something new to amaze me every time. I hate to post wcif's but I looked everywhere and can only find the ts3 version: the ipad, please tell me where you got it? It would be a great help.

I stumbled across your site and have been fawning over your work for the past 2 hours... I can't even say how floored I am. Is there any chance you'd upload or provide links to the major items in the dining room items (long grey table, chairs, black wall piece, etc.) and the light fixture from the living room?

Certainly: The long grey table is from Holy Simoly, the chairs are by Shino&KCR at TSR (Sophie Dining set), the Rosetta Stone is by Senemm at TSR (one of their Burj sets - TSR is blocked on my network so I can't link, sorry) and the light fixture is from Vitasims.
