I really like the way you slip in and out of Neyri's thoughts. It was very effective in the previous chapter, too. Such a treat to read! Clever and witty and mysterious. Neyri obviously doesn't trust Marwood much, particularly not with an extremely valuable book. It makes me wonder if he's been cheated before, or perhaps come close or suspected Marwood would if he could.
The shots are incredible. The detail with the shoes is brilliant, but every shot is breathtakingly beautiful.
Beth, thank you! :D Definitely a bit of tension between those two when it comes to money! Neyri is the type who always checks his change, and Marwood is trying to keep his shop afloat. They had a bit of a kerfuffle earlier about how much he'd have to pay up front, so at this point Neyri is assuming the whole 'mysterious, dangerous robber' thing is just a figment of his imagination, meant to put him off.
