Un Amour Éternel - A Prologue.

I no longer have or play the Sims. Most of my CC can be found on this OneDrive account. For a picture catalog of the CC, check my Repository on Tumblr.
Thank you for the fun and support over the many years - this game and community were part of my coming-of-age, and I hope it will stay strong for many years to come.
Much love,
Yuxi.

Welcome to Un Amour Éternel, Yuxi's TS2-crap-dump! I dig decorating, storytelling and making pretty pixel people, amongst other things. Older content (like old hair retextures/conversions) can be found on my Livejournal, and a masterlist of most of my stuff can be found here.

[Clothing] GoS March Sim Challenge gift

Hi guys!
First of all, I know a fair amount of my links are still dead. Remember that everything is on my OneDrive - use the search box to find what you're looking for. I'll fix everything eventually.
I'm on an indefinite hiatus from creating/simming (we'll see how long I can hold out, hah), but I'll still be on GoS and posting the Sim Challenge participation gifts here. Speaking of which, here's the one from March.

What it says on the tin.
Caveats: This does not have morphs. Sorry! I just thought it looked silly. Also, the animations are less than stellar (your man will show some leg while traipsing around) but I really didn’t feel like banging at it longer than I have. If you can fix it, be my guest.
This time, I included a normal mesh and a high-poly mesh. The high-poly mesh is basically ALL THE POLYGONS with Bloom’s male torso (which is better defined and has... nipples?) and Sexyfeet, plus Tenshii’s smooth hands. Best for visual junkies who are mostly about the picture taking. The normal mesh just uses the Maxis body. Delete the one you don’t want.

Tutorial: Attaching Tenshii~Akari's smooth hands to tops/outfits.

Here's a tutorial I posted on GoS a little while ago - I thought it might be useful to put it on here, too.

Attaching Tenshii~Akari's smooth hands to tops or outfits.

I noticed some frustrated flailing about using these, so I thought it might be useful to write a little tutorial about them. This is a basic tutorial: It's extremely easy for those who are comfortable with Milkshape, but it was written to be understandable for those who are less confident with the program. Swapping hands is like swapping shoes, but a lot easier. So if you've done that before, this is a walk in the park for you. This will just cover the meshing bit, nothing else.

What are Tenshii's smooth hands?
Tenshii~Akari posted a number of lovely body meshes over at Sim-Oasis a few years back, which feature smoother hands and more detailed feet. The hands are basically edits of the Maxis hands, so they have the same mapping - they're just less blocky. They are interesting for those who prefer a more realistic aesthetic and are put off by the original hands. The drawback is that they do kick up the mesh's total polycount (by about 1800), putting the total polycount on the same level as the average TS3>TS2 clothing mesh. If you can use those without noticing lagging in your game, you ought to have no problems.

Here is a comparison:

What you'll need:
- A recent version of Milkshape
- Unimesh plugins by Wes_H
- msAlignNormals plugin by demon432
-The smooth hands pack I prepared for you.
This archive includes the separated hands for all the ages and genders, cut off at the forearm. The normals and seams are matched to the game's standard naked meshes. They are in .simpe format, so that you can easily import them into your project with bones and comments intact.

Make sure you're working on a duplicate file, or have a back-up somewhere. You might end up deleting a face or vertex that you didn't mean to delete.

Attaching to bare arms )

Attaching to longsleeves )

Again, double check it in-game to see if there is anything that you might have missed. And that is it. Easy, right? Many thanks to Tenshii~Akari for her open policy - remember to credit her if you use these.

Please feel free to post questions or point out anything that is unclear.

[Neighbourhood Decoration] Empire Earth 2

Firstly, I must give credit to the lovely Podchacha for the idea of extracting buildings from strategy games to use as 'hood deco, because it is brilliant. Thank you!

These are conversions of buildings from the game Empire Earth 2, edited to be used as neighbourhood decoration for Sims 2. It's mostly medieval Western and medieval East-Asian architecture (along with some Greek buildings). They look decent enough from lot view as well, but some will have some missing faces only visible from bottom-up. So, you know... don't put those close to lots if it bothers you. Still looks better than what the game does to your own lots, though. They're placeable everywhere, too. Credits go to Mad Doc Software for making this game, naturally.

Here's an impression of what it looks like in neighbourhood view:

(unedited picture)

(unedited picture)

The stuff on the island in this picture is not included. The pagoda and the little houses are by Podchacha, and the tower is by Lethe_s/Sunni.

And here are overviews showing everything that is included. They're huge, so I'm going to link to them instead:

You can find them in the 'Miscellaneous' section of the 'hood deco catalogue, except for a little fire pit not pictured (you can find that under 'Stones').

[Clothing] TS3's Faux Faux Fabulous

Last thing for a while, I swear! Maybe. I'm just terrible at keeping stuff to myself.

This is TS3's Faux Faux Fabulous dress for TS2, with that infamous extra cleavage added to it (which originally came from a hidden outfit in TS2). I only noticed there was already a conversion out there when I was almost done, but I think the boob-swap makes it different enough to justify putting it here anyway.
There is a wee bit of clipping at the bottom during walking. I tried everything I could do reduce it, but when I found out it does the same even in TS3 I just gave up. So avoid this one if that bothers you.

12 Days of GoSMas - 12 TS3toTS2 outfits

This was my contribution to the 2013 Advent over at GoS. This post will serve as a back-up of these files, and for easier troubleshooting.

Here's some general info about these files:
- Files are compressed and all previews are included.
- All outfits have both preg- and fatmorphs and are for AM and AF only.
- All outfits include an extra mesh labelled 'smoothhands': This mesh uses Tenshii~Akari's smooth hands, which makes the hands appear well, smoother, as visible in the previews. The regular mesh uses the regular Maxis hands. Delete the mesh you don't want - you can't use both at the same time.

Note: The Long Mandarin Coat has some seriously messed up animations, visible when the sim is walking. Please don't redistribute that mesh with recolours/defaults until I've fixed it. I wish I could do it faster but it's being baffling and infuriating.

[Hair retexture] Cazy 84 Mystical

Hello! Have a hair retexture for a change, of Cazy's Mystical/84. This hair quite intrigued me when I saw it for TS3, but I only recently noticed it has a TS2 version, too. Uses my own textures blended with Cazy's, and it only works for AM-YAM-EM. The mapping on the right side was a bit sassy, but I hope I managed a compromise with the highlights and everything.

Credits go to Cazy for the mesh and textures I edited.

[Object retexture] Foliage and spider web overlays

Well, let's not beat around the bush:
I slapped a bunch of foliage textures from Tomb Raider Underworld and Devil May Cry on two of Aikea's wall writing meshes. You'll also get some spider webs, because they're just dusting away in my game at this point. For more versatility, put the meshes on a shiftable OMSP so you can plaster them on columns and balconies and such.

I did a small edit of both of these objects so that all the textures show up on the back as well - this should make them more useful while decorating with moveobjects on and snapobjectstogrid off. For this to work, you'll need to remove "MESH_aikea_guinea-HalfHeightWallWriting_OrderOfTheReptile.package" and "MESH_Aikea_Guinea-Object_TwoTileWallWriting" from your downloads folder if you already have them.

Preview of the foliage (14 textures in total, not all shown - plants on the floor aren't included):

My preview for the webs turned out shitty, so here is the picture I made them for to start with (5 textures in total):

I hope these are useful to some of you!

Credits to aikea-guinea for the meshes, Capcom and Eidos/Crystal Dynamics for the foliage texture, and the brush creators whose brushes I used for the webs. I just put everything in a recolour package.

[Objects] Desidere - DMC4 lighting and trinkets

It's ornate o'clock and I have a little dump of DMC4 conversions for you. Mostly lighting, plus some decorative trinkets. I'd like to attempt converting some doors and arches next - if I manage to not make them explode, heh.

I don't have a lot of time for fancy previews at this moment, but hopefully these are clear enough to show what's included. Most of the lighting is probably fit for a world lit by fire, too.

Cut for two pictures. )

Credits to Capcom for the meshes and textures - I only wrestled with them to make them work in TS2. Also to Sunni over at Plumb Bob Keep for one of her braziers that I cloned to get the fire effect on the large brazier - I tried adding it myself but BHAVs go completely over my head.

[Columns] Arduin - Ten columns from Devil May Cry 4

I posted this to GoS last week, figured it was time I posted it here, too - for the sake of organization and all.

Right, this is exactly what it says on the label: 10 columns converted from Devil May Cry 4. I love me some columns - they're such an easy way to spice up uninspired square rooms. Unfortunately that part of my catalogue was a bit lacking, so in an attempt to rectify that somewhat I turned to DMC and its pretty, pretty graphics and extracted a bunch of them.

All files are Compressed, the preview pictures are included. All credits go to Capcom, I just wrestled with the files and textures a bit to make them work in TS2.

Now, previews of all the included variations:

[Durante] Devil May Cry 4 lighting + bonus column and pedestal.

I've been a bit inactive lately, so here's a little set to make up for it. Like the title says, these are some items ripped from Devil May Cry 4: A wall sconce, a candelabra, a two-story chandelier, a little stone pedestal and a column. The lights are similar to the Spencer candles I extracted from Resident Evil, so if you liked those, you might like these too.

It's late and I'm too tired for proper preview pictures, so you'll have to do with these. All textures and meshes by Capcom, I just fiddled with them to make them work in TS2. Files are compressed, previews included.

Forgot to mention, you need University for the candelabra and Mansion & Gardens for the chandelier. Polycounts are all well in the Maxis range - even the chandelier, surprisingly enough.
