Haylooo. Have some stuff from GoS events. Not going to be terribly verbose today - lack of sleep is a brain killer.

Blind Date gift for Shadowfell.

Egg Hunt stuff

I contributed two eggs to the GoS Egg Hunt this year. First one included retextures of a room screen by Moirae, and of the dragon scroll objects from the game extracted by Lmhjws/Clutter-a-holic.

The second egg was a TS3>TS2 conversion from the Gentleman First outfit from the Steampunk Savvy store set. The boots are by aikea-guinea.

Here's a tutorial I posted on GoS a little while ago - I thought it might be useful to put it on here, too.

Attaching Tenshii~Akari's smooth hands to tops or outfits.

I noticed some frustrated flailing about using these, so I thought it might be useful to write a little tutorial about them. This is a basic tutorial: It's extremely easy for those who are comfortable with Milkshape, but it was written to be understandable for those who are less confident with the program. Swapping hands is like swapping shoes, but a lot easier. So if you've done that before, this is a walk in the park for you. This will just cover the meshing bit, nothing else.

What are Tenshii's smooth hands?
Tenshii~Akari posted a number of lovely body meshes over at Sim-Oasis a few years back, which feature smoother hands and more detailed feet. The hands are basically edits of the Maxis hands, so they have the same mapping - they're just less blocky. They are interesting for those who prefer a more realistic aesthetic and are put off by the original hands. The drawback is that they do kick up the mesh's total polycount (by about 1800), putting the total polycount on the same level as the average TS3>TS2 clothing mesh. If you can use those without noticing lagging in your game, you ought to have no problems.

Here is a comparison:

What you'll need:
- A recent version of Milkshape
- Unimesh plugins by Wes_H
- msAlignNormals plugin by demon432
-The smooth hands pack I prepared for you.
This archive includes the separated hands for all the ages and genders, cut off at the forearm. The normals and seams are matched to the game's standard naked meshes. They are in .simpe format, so that you can easily import them into your project with bones and comments intact.

Make sure you're working on a duplicate file, or have a back-up somewhere. You might end up deleting a face or vertex that you didn't mean to delete.

Again, double check it in-game to see if there is anything that you might have missed. And that is it. Easy, right? Many thanks to Tenshii~Akari for her open policy - remember to credit her if you use these.

Please feel free to post questions or point out anything that is unclear.

Firstly, I must give credit to the lovely Podchacha for the idea of extracting buildings from strategy games to use as 'hood deco, because it is brilliant. Thank you!

These are conversions of buildings from the game Empire Earth 2, edited to be used as neighbourhood decoration for Sims 2. It's mostly medieval Western and medieval East-Asian architecture (along with some Greek buildings). They look decent enough from lot view as well, but some will have some missing faces only visible from bottom-up. So, you know... don't put those close to lots if it bothers you. Still looks better than what the game does to your own lots, though. They're placeable everywhere, too. Credits go to Mad Doc Software for making this game, naturally.

Here's an impression of what it looks like in neighbourhood view:

The stuff on the island in this picture is not included. The pagoda and the little houses are by Podchacha, and the tower is by Lethe_s/Sunni.

And here are overviews showing everything that is included. They're huge, so I'm going to link to them instead:

You can find them in the 'Miscellaneous' section of the 'hood deco catalogue, except for a little fire pit not pictured (you can find that under 'Stones').

Dear 小魔女碧碧,

I know you're going to see this, so let me take this opportunity to kindly ask you to

stop selling my stuff on Taobao.

Last thing for a while, I swear! Maybe. I'm just terrible at keeping stuff to myself.

This is TS3's Faux Faux Fabulous dress for TS2, with that infamous extra cleavage added to it (which originally came from a hidden outfit in TS2). I only noticed there was already a conversion out there when I was almost done, but I think the boob-swap makes it different enough to justify putting it here anyway.
There is a wee bit of clipping at the bottom during walking. I tried everything I could do reduce it, but when I found out it does the same even in TS3 I just gave up. So avoid this one if that bothers you.
